According to the opinions of many people, only some of them know when Russia began to participate in the Olympic Games. It was in London, Great Britain, 1908.
ОтветитьУдалитьI believe that the first six Russian sportsmen won, thanks to similarity national kinds of sport in Russia and in the UK. Firstly, Britons and Russians are big sport lovers and no matter they take part in it or not. Secondly, Russia and Great Britain have similar kinds of sports, for example, lapta in Russia and cricket in the UK.
On the other hand, some people can think that Russia and Great Britain are two absolutely different countries because the UK is a warm country and Russia is a cold country and Russian people can not play in summer games.
I think they are not right because sport does not depend on the climatic conditions. Also Russia has borrowed many kinds of sports from Great Britain. For example: football, badminton, tennis, curling. And now some of these kinds are included in the list of Olympic Games.
Therefore, I think that the history of Olympic Games started after Russian joining to Games and including new British kinds of sport in the Olympic Games.
